DREAM LOG

Sometimes these places are so familiar that they feel like revisiting a memory.

October 26, 2026: I am walking down a seemingly ancient stone street in what looks like a small city somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. It is late fall, in the evening. Haze covers the setting sun, everything is chilled and grey. I pass by an empty storefront and feel a pang in my chest. This is some restaurant that I used to love. One that does not exist anymore. I pass the storefront and make my way to a very large building. This is a place that I am often: some kind of dorm or other form of shared lodging. It's always very strange to have dreams here because of how familiar it feels. I can never remember the specific names or faces of the people that I encounter here, but it's like I have known them for a very long time and they are somehow dear to me. Last night I was creeping around as though I did not belong, this is a feeling that I associate with this place and many others. Probably because I am always going into a part of the building that is unfinished and finding all kinds of rooms and hallways that should not be geometrically possible. I wouldn't say I feel necessarily afraid, but I definitely feel like I don't want to be caught.

September 28, 2026: Uncomfortable nightmares last night. I was with a group of people at a house party. With the way everyone was acting I could tell this was something we do often. After a while, I became what I can only describe as painfully agitated and not in control of myself. I acted very strangely, wailing and crying in a way that was making people nervous. In an effort to restore normalcy, we decided to go out on our motorcycles. It was nighttime and we were riding down country dirt roads, I guess we have these parties squarely in the middle of nowhere. I was afraid, I felt like I was going to wreck since I could barely control myself. I felt a deep panic that I could not shake, like something horrible was going to happen. The open, sprawling fields looked threatening in the moonlight. I thought about what could be hiding in there.
